Textured, right-hand and ambidextrous use
At Super Quali Cast, we manufacture precision investment castings for bolt catches for AR-15 platforms such as the M4 and SIG 716. Our OEM-ready firearm component castings are designed to meet strict dimensional and performance requirements. Our default stainless steel bolt catch castings meet OEM tolerance and design standards and are excellent at relaying tactile information. We supply these castings to OEMs and rifle manufacturers in India, the U.S.A., France, Italy, Poland, Israel, Japan, and Australia.
Bolt catches are a part of the lower assembly that works with the bolt carrier group (BCG). It holds the BCG back and locks it when the magazine runs empty. This accomplishes two things: it communicates to the operator that the magazine is empty, and enables rapid chambering of the next round after a magazine change. In addition to the official M4 variant, we bulk-manufacture custom AR-15 bolt catches from a range of alloys.
How We Manufacture Investment Castings for Bolt Catches
We cast AR-15 bolt catch castings in our state-of-the-art foundry using advanced lost wax casting processes to ensure dimensional accuracy and repeatability. Here's an overview of the process.
Precision Molding
Ensures uniform lever geometry and accurate casts.
Controlled Pouring
Prevents cracks in casts, internal porosity, and minimizes shrinkage.
Heat Treatment
Improves mechanical properties, primarily surface hardness.
CNC Machining
Minute adjustments to grooves and overall shape for tight tolerance.
Final Inspection
Dimensional, mechanical, and chemical checks for zero-defect output.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you manufacture bolt catch plungers, springs, and pins?
No, we do not manufacture bolt catch plungers, springs, and pins since they are not possible to manufacture using the investment casting process. We manufacture bolt catch levers of different shapes and sizes.
Are bolt catches available for the AK platform?
The standard AK platform is more simplistic and mechanical in nature. It does not use bolt catches in its design. Some modern variants may leverage bolt catches. Speak with us to know if we support it.
Can you produce custom bolt catch castings using custom alloys?
Yes, we can produce custom designs with the alloy of your choice or a proprietary mix you use. These designs are for commercial use and apply to the AR-15 platform.
What is the MOQ for Bolt Catches?
The MOQ for bolt catches varies by design complexity, material choice, and delivery location. Please connect with our experts to get the MOQ for your project.
What is the bolt carrier group (BCG) in rifles?
The bolt carrier group in modern rifles is all the components that work in tandem to support the bolt to perform a wide range of actions, from loading the chamber to ejecting a spent round.
