Our Hastelloy Casting Manufacturing Process
As a Hastelloy investment casting company, we manufacture a variety of components using this superalloy. Our investment casting process includes the following steps:
- Mold Creation: Creating wax molds and affixing them to a runner tree.
- Shell Building: Investing the wax runner tree multiple times in a ceramic slurry.
- Dewaxing: Heating the ceramic shells to melt the wax and obtain the negative shape.
- Pouring: Gravity pouring molten alloys, such as Hastelloys, into the empty shells.
- Cooling: Letting the alloy cool naturally and take shape.
- Knocking: Separating the Hastelloy investment castings from the shells.
- Solution Annealing: Improving material strength and ductility by placing the separated components in a high-heat furnace and then quickly cooling them.
- Machining: Creating grooves, taking off excess material, and adding finishing touches.
- Testing: Checking for signs of internal duress, microscopic cracks, and ensuring the product complies with international design standards.
