Valve castings that meet industry standards and end-user needs.
At Super Quali Casts, we manufacture investment casting for gate valves used to control flow across industries, such as oil and gas, food and beverage, and other municipal networks.
We manufacture and supply gate valve castings to industrial valve manufacturers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), who produce valves that find application in various industries.
Using the investment casting process, we produce gate valve casts that are precise, conform to specifications, and meet industry standards in material strength and longevity.
Our Manufacturing Process of Gate Valve Casting
Our investment casting for gate valves moves through the following stages:
Wax Pattern Creation and Investing
Our technicians produce accurate wax patterns by pouring molten wax into precision-engineered metal dyes for accuracy at scale. Next, our operators affix the wax patterns to a runner to form a wax pattern tree. They invest it into a ceramic slurry and coat it with stucco—up to eight times for optimal results.
Dewaxing
Foundrymen introduce the ceramic-coated wax pattern into an autoclave to melt the wax. They then drain the wax and shift the hollow ceramic shell into a high-temperature kiln. This strengthens the shell and removes any traces of remaining wax.
Chemical Analysis and Pouring
Experts use a spectrometer to test a small batch of the metal/alloy to be used and provide a material test certificate (MTC). Post inspection, casters pour the molten metal into the shells using gravity pouring.
Knockout and Separation
Worker’s knockout the ceramic shell using water jets and vibration. Machinists then separate the individual casts from the runner and fix any visual inconsistencies, with special emphasis on valve stem, gate, and rings.
Heat Treatment
Operators load individual casts into a kiln for heat treatment to improve surface hardness, temperature tolerances, and material strength.
Mechanical Analysis and Inspection
Engineers test casts in universal testing machines for tensile strength, yield stress, elongation, and reduction, followed by a final inspection for dimensional conformity and product integrity.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is investment gate valve casting the right choice for me?
If your design is complex and requires a high-degree of finish, investment gate valve casting is the right choice for you. In fact, it is the preferred choice for small to medium-sized gate valve castings. For large gate valve castings, sand casting is the better choice.
2. Which material is the best for investment casting for gate valves?
The best material for investment casting for gate valves depends on your needs and factors like environment, temperature, and fluid viscosity. We work with a wide variety of carbon steel, stainless steel, and nickel-based alloys.
3. Do you support third-party inspection agencies for investment casting for gate valves?
Yes, at Super Quali Cast, we support third-party inspection for investment casting for gate valves. Inspection depends on your needs and includes coordination for dimensions and tolerances, material verification, and test witnessing in line with international standards. We also support First Article Inspection.
4. How do you check for internal defects in gate valve casting?
We check for internal defects using non-destructive testing methods such as X-ray for gas pockets and dye penetrant inspections (DPI) for microscopic cracks.
